I went to view a 981 GTS, in general it was in great condition and was yet to undergo the OPC pre sales preparation.
The only thing that stood out was the amount of scuffs to the top edge of the headlights. The salesperson said they would try polish out.
As this was the first one I have looked at I don’t know if this is a common problem, is there a film or protection you can get, would it invalidate the OPC warranty if fitted?

I think this question has been posed before and is an issue with the lights themselves. There was a recent thread (can’t find it) but the below talks of delamination. Could this be the problem?

Thats interesting thanks, looking at the photo posted they do look more like cracks, the ones on the car U viewed weren't as deep, just the surface.

If they won't polish out, ask the OPC to replace them as part of the deal?

They have offered to reduce by £995 for the lights.

It is just the plastic covers you're talking about, yes?
How much can they be!
I'd have thought £995 would cover the parts (but it is a Porsche of course!) and the OPC can throw in the labour to sell the car.

Not sure you can get the plastic covers on their own, I think you have to buy the complete light.

Pretty certain a decent detailing type outfit should be able to remove scratches for much less than £995.

I'm curious what has caused this. Is it some over zealous polishing of the body that has rubbed off on the lights or could it have been through an automated car wash a lot.

I think you just sand the covers and respray in UV resistant lacquer. Loads of stuff on the net about refinishing old headlamps with plastic lenses. Do the deal, save £995 and fix them yourself for £10.
