Don’t use the aircon much on my 981 Spyder (obv) but yesterday I did and was ice cold then after an hour or so stopped working at some point. No sudden loss of coolant or leaks. No stones in rads. Will book it in at some point (no hurry as that’s probably only hot spell) but pending that any thoughts from experience?

Hi, is the ventilation system fan working? on our GT4 it sometimes sticks and requires a little help to get going again.

Yes that’s fine - always needs freeing after a winter lay up but fine now!

Personally I leave the AC on all the time all year round as that is how ‘climate control’ is designed. I don’t know if this gives me the years of hassle free trouble (17yrs in my Audi before needing a re-gas) but when I used to switch AC on/off I ended up requiring a new compressor.

Problem is I don’t need or want my climate to be controlled except maybe one day every two years!!

It is recommended that air con should be run regularly. Prolonged periods of non use causes seals etc to harden, crack and fail. The air con fluid contains a lubricant to avoid this happening but needs to be circulated around the system regularly
