Just wondering whether anyone out there has wrapped their GT4, whether people have views on doing it, and any recommendations for a good detailer in mid Scotland - Edinburgh/Glasgow/Stirling..?
Considering a wrap and wondering if there are any issues I haven't thought of. Mainly just as some fun to try something different... All views welcome as don't want to screw it up biggrin
I'm taking delivery in a few weeks and will likely enjoy the stock colour for a while... but just in case i get bored and need a change...

Won't this knacker your warranty?

Yea good point, thanks - trying to figure that out... answer is .. i'm not definitely sure yet... i guess worst case, warranty is 3 years (if i am not mistaken) so just play by the rules until that time...

Why would a wrap knacker your warranty?

It could reduce cover on certain parts e.g. headlights removed to fit the wrap correctly then if the headlights have a fault Porsche could say damage was done when a non-OPC removed them. Same for electrics if door cards are removed, if rattles occur, clip trims are broken etc.

Mine was warrantied with a wrap. It was noted as a comment at the bottom of the 111pt check.

No dramas using the warranty for a trim rattle - despite the trim piece being removed to do the wrap..

Good to know, could be OPC dependent though. Some are more flexible than others at putting claims in.

I’m sure. This was OPC Portsmouth, FYI. Also had Zunsports on..

However the 2 warranty claims I’ve made have been at another OPC..

thanks for the recommendation.

mind if i ask - reason to go for a wrap because of a colour you couldn't get at the time / different styling capability / or like a matt coat or something?

Ive had mine wrapped metallic blue for 2 years - missus wouldn’t go out in a white car. Looks great in my view!

Shore wraps in Glasgow did a superb job on my better half’s RS3.

My mrs. won't go out in a white Cayman either. Somehow of the 3 I ever bought, I still own 2 of them. smile

What’s the typical price range for a decent quality ‘wrap’?

Simply paint protection. My car is black. Transparent glossy XPEL wrap.
