Hi all,

The high pressure air-conditioning pipe that runs over the engine is leaking on my 13 plate Cayman S. Has anyone had this replaced - can it be done without dropping the engine (I understand on this year Cayman the pipe has some flexibility unlike the previous ones)?

Also, can anyone recommend a specialist around the Cambs area to do the work. I would normally use one in Hertfordshire but they are booked solid for the next few months and I would rather like the AC to be working over the summer..,.

Many thanks.

On my MY13 Boxster S it needed the engine out. Twice. Once to diagnose, and then a second time to fit the part when it arrived.

Blimey, that sounds like a recipe for turning a relatively cheap job into quite an expensive one!!

Indeed. Luckily extended warranty picked it up.

I did ask out of interest and was told £1500 or so!

Where is it leaking from? Is it possible that it's leaking from the valve in which case it may be possible to replace this separately?

It’s not that easy to see exactly where it is leaking from, but judging by the mess it’s above the lower join (with the pipe tap hay runs along the sills).

I have now managed to get it booked in for a couple of weeks time so we will see how they get on…
