As someone who just bought a used 718GT4 because the dealer would not sell me a new one, I noticed that the used car prices seems to be softening. Cars seems to be standing at the dealers longer and some have been reduced. Even cars with nice specs. No regrets from me but feel that anyone looking now may get a good deal before summer comes. What do you guys think/found?

Sold my old 718 GT4 recently so have been watching prices a bit. Not sure I’d agree with you. There were 20 cars for sale second hand in the dealer network recently and that’s now down to sub 10 and most with comfort spec. Mine was a good spec (inc bucket seat) car with highish miles at 7,000 yet it returned me what I’d consider to be very strong money. The end of production coupled with the rave reviews on GT4RS will all help values I suspect. There’s many worse places to put your money than in a 718 GT4 wink

Looking at how many cars are currently available for sale used in the Opc network, I would disagree.

Used appears to be the only option for most new porsche models at the moment.

Ps. Enjoy it and drive it, don’t get to worried about values.

Also disagree. Having bought a used one in the last month stock is moving very quickly and prices are firm or rising for the right spec cars.

I would tend to agree with you guys but I noticed that OPC Solihul had a red GT4 at £101k but now reduced to £96k with nice specs and buckets. Maybe a one off?

That car was reduced because it was massively overpriced.

Fair comment. There is one on autotrader asking £110k wobble

If it's a fully loaded 2022 CS PDK in PTS then it might be worth it. These cars are so different based on spec you just can't say a 718 GT4 at £x is cheap/about right/expensive. The devil is in the details.

The car you mentioned was a 2019 manual with a good spec over and above CS. It's worth mid-nineties.

Until last weekend for the past month or two there were constantly c 20 OPC Gt4s but by Tuesday 13 had sold and there were only 7. The typical Porsche GT Spring buying flurry appears to have kicked off following the warmer weather.

Currently 10 for sale but 7 are comforts and priced accordingly.

Prices look fairly static and should stay robust if not rise towards summer particular as the better cars typically sell numbers are reduced and demand grows.

Other factors to consider are the restricted supply and imminent production ceasing and supporting prices of the 981 still commanding up to £80k for the best cars even at 6 years old.

One additional factor in the equation is the current 16 month lead time on the new Lotus Emira.

To be honest a 2022 loaded CS car in Shark Blue or similar saught after colour would be at least that at an OPC!

A couple of fairly basic spec shark blue 21 / 22 plate cars have already sold for 110k in OPC this year.

I was in my opc today and most of there stock is already sold, not one GT car available.

Personally I disagree with that.

As somebody with a new GT4 on order, I have been watching used 718 cars/prices like a hawk for the entire time I've been waiting for my car. I have/had every Autotrader and OPC car saved to see when/if it sells (yes that's the sort of person I am). I can say with the upmost confidence that prices are rising and cars are moving quickly regardless of spec (the 718 doesn't seem to suffer from Must have Bucket/CS/Ceramics syndrome like the 981 does). There was a lull over the winter Dec/Jan/Feb period, but that's to be expected, and as we move into Spring and into Summer I can only see values continuing to rise. As somebody previously mentioned, 12 718's disappeared from OPC stock last weekend, and RPM/Ashgood/Romans etc are all moving there's for good strong money. If what the dealers are saying is correct about GT4 production stopping in the next few months, then I can still only see values rising further.

Having said all that, remember, screen price and the price you get for the car in p/x/trade, are two totally different things. smile

Ashgood just sold a 981 gt4 for 80k, the advert barely went live!

I would say the market is on the up, now the weather has changed.

There are currently 27 718GT4s from the porsche website with the cheapest being 2020 at 89k but the list price new is 82k before options. Not sure how low the used prices will be in 3 to5 years. Will it get to 75k?

Doubtful bearing in mind the impending production stop together with rising new prices and strength of the 981 GT4 prices even at 7 years old.

As ever with all used Porsche GTs the relative used price levels are closely linked.

5 months on from the original post, the interesting thing to note about your current observation is the 27 cars available are not always the same cars as they were a week ago. The availability of the cars changes almost daily. For example since Saturday 5 cars were sold, replaced by 3 new listings.

The market for these appears to be buoyant, probably because IMO compared to the prices being asked for all GT3's (especially 992), these are still a relative bargain. Supply of new has been choked again, so I can only see prices staying the same and or continuing to creep up.
