Hi folks,
I recently bought a 300mile CS which was sold to me with the harnesses still in the Schroth boxes and the fire extinguisher mounted in the “none CS car” position at the front of the passenger seat.

The fitting kit for the harnesses is absent as is the CS fitting kit for the extinguisher - the selling OPC are chasing the PO but based on my previous requests he may not feel obliged to respond.

So, is there any reason why I need to move the extinguisher? I can’t see that it will interfere with the crotch strap (but maybe there’s another reason not to have it there) and does anyone have the part nos for the harness fixing kit and/or the CS extinguisher fixing kit?

I came up with 981 580 681 80 from another place but this comes back as a dead no on the PET.

My local OPC is also struggling with this.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
Kevin

No reason to move the extinguisher, as far as I can tell, as the crotch belt comes up through a hole in the seat anyway.

I’ve seen cars set up exactly like this.

Part number from 981 for the extinguisher and normal mount was 991.722.115.80, according to the box I have for mine.

Thanks Tyrone - I can’t remember if your car is a CS, if so don’t suppose you have the box/part no for the harness fitting kit too?
Many thx,
Kevin

The clubsport comes with a larger clubsport extinguisher that is mounted in the passenger footwell against the centre tunnel.

When you buy new your asked if you want this fitted or not, many choose not and its supplied in its box to the owner, fitting requires the carpet to be cut - When specing the car there is an option for an additional extinguisher that bolts to the front of the seat, this is not the clubsport extinguisher this is an optional fire extinguisher.

Drivers harness is standard on a clubsport, passenger harness is an option. - Fitting is again at the owners discretion, retro fitting in a GT4 is a pain, you have to remove the bulkhead carpet the cut sections out for the harness to pass through.

On the 981 it was said that Clubsport could not be fitted retrospectively ...

Is this still correct and was the 718 different in this respect ?

Still the same Chris, the factory Clubsport cage and 6-point harness hardware cannot be used in an non-CS car…but you can add an aftermarket roll/harness bar and harnesses to non CS cars… just not mounted in the factory locations.

Unfortunately the body in white for a CS car is different to a non CS car. However there is a lot of discussion on the Rennlist forum re installing roll cages and harness bars in to non CS cars because Porsche don’t supply CS cars in America
