I've just started doing some research on a potential purchase of one of these toward the end of the year.
Budget is between £25-£30k and it will be mostly used on weekends.
I always said I'd want a manual but have recently been leaning toward the pdk version as I'm no driving god and don't do track work. There is also a lot more choice of cars.
As I'm getting older I do actually prefer driving Autos.
Are the transmissions fairly reliable if serviced correctly?
I'd like to minimize the borkage factor if possible!
I'm guessing 2010 onwards to avoid the common engine issues.
Thanks in advance.

Hi There

I have no real knowledge to add to this but I have just picked up a 987.2 bang in the middle of your price range. Mine is the manual. After driving auto for the last 8 years this car has a perfect manual gearbox. I am not planning to race or track mine, but I don't feel like I am missing out by not having PDK.
