Had this car 5 months now. It has a great tone, but seems like it's being held back, a bit muted, I like what I hear, but I'd like to unleash the potential of that flat-6 engine.

Coming here for ideas or feedback. Is it even a good idea? I've seen many suggest leaving them as they are. I don't want to spoil it with some droney soundtrack.

I had mine modified at Carnewal.. Absolutely zero drone and a lovely sound.

Thanks.. Do you know how they modify it? Just wondering if a local place may be able to do the same.

I didn't see what he did internally ( I was ushered out of the workshop and fed coffee and biscuits!) but worth a trip if you ever need to go to Belgium.

Just don't buy an ebay special 986 sports exhaust. Mine was made by 'toyosport' but I saw the same pattern across lots of different brands and prices.

Absolutely horrific drone at 2.5 to 3.5k revs.

I can vouch for Carnewal too, although there is the Gundo exhaust hack which might be an option?

Go on boxa.net There is an exhaust sounds thread I started. Personally I have the eBay manifolds, 200 cell sports cars and Carnewal.

Just been on. Pretty sure I'm going to go for the bypass valves, as seen on this posts. I can't see any downsides.

Bypass pipes rather than valves is a pretty common mod with lots of places that do it. Bear in mind it's always on so to speak. Your next choice is pipe diameter although most places don't give you a choice. If you meant valves then it's doable too but a lot more work.

Yeah sorry I meant pipes, dunno why I wrote valves. The latter would be nice but the car is just a toy anyway so can't see it being annoying in any way.

Are there any worthwhile induction mods or is it best to stick with the stock setup, as per most other cars I've owned?
