Hi all.

First time posting so apologies if what I am about to say seems daft or is well covered (if so any pointers in the direction would be great as I haven't found it yet).

In a nutshell, I currently got an '09 987 Cayman. About 55k on the clock. Had it 2 years.

Recently I have replaced the rear brake pipes (£400), front coffin arms (£700) and major service which picked up on corrosion on the brakes but nothing that needed doing immediately.

At this stage, I am thinking at somepoint, some more major things like the clutch may come into consideration. I was hoping some of you out there, that have had these cars longer, would be able to shed some light on things to plan for?

Or is the car a point where i'd be better off moving on?

(I don't want to do that but I am learning as I go and would rather be prepared than surprised.)

Cheers.
Chris

Front coolant pipes, gearbox cables then a/c condensers / coolant rads is where your money will go next if they haven't been changed yet.
Other stuff like clutch life will depend on how you use it.

Forgot to add exhaust flange bolts and clamps too.

Thanks Philvrs. That gives me plenty to go away and cost up.

Have you ever had quotes for these items? If so, open to letting me know what the cost was roughly please?

Mines an 09 boxster, and i dont have the invoices but these parts have been replaced on mine.
If you go on youtube and search for max revs, he had an 09 cayman S a few years ago and did a video on the invoices he had with his car, well worth a watch.

Just had front coolant pipes and a low temp thermostat fitted on my cayman S and it was about £800 all in.

Thanks both for the details and the video.

This gives me a good steer in how much I should be looking to invest in the motor over next few years.
