Hi just looking at prices on PDK GT4 and GTS4.0 and the ‘overs’ seem higher than for manuals. Do you think this is a short term thin because of the relative rarity of PDK cars and over time the manuals will come back or is the pdk likely to remain a significant premium?

I'm also in market and thought I would buy used 4.0 GTS manual with buckets but TBH im now thinking going new PDK GT4.

I think the current used PDK premium will drop when more come on market and a lot of people seem to be bailing out of manuals at mo.
Its purely current supply and demand for both derivatives.

Maybe I'm getting lazy but I think with 400 bhp car is better suited as PDK IMHO

In regards to the GT4, Porsche estimate there will be a 25% PDK v 75% Manual split come the end of production. With that in mind P(VW)FS have made the GFV(final payment) for PDK c11% higher v the manual, and are in turn pricing them higher on screens to ensure they don't take a beating come 'hand-back' time.

Make sure you drive the new PDK gt4 before placing a order. I was going in buy a manual GT4 but left with a PDK.

Oh and I’ve had plenty of other Porsche PDK car before.

In my opinion it felt the car feel for more alive. But what’s great is porsche give people the option of both.

Depending on how long the 718 gt4 will run will depend how rare the gt4 pdk will become, remember the manual had a good two year head start in sales so there will always be higher numbers of manuals unless porsche decided to drop the manual in the gt4 which in my opinion will never happen.

Interesting thanks for the replies.
I’ve just been told I’ve got an allocation for a GT4 by my OPC so need to decide on gearbox. Not actually driven one yet but have a GTS4.0 manual at the moment so have an idea.

Whilst there are quite a few flipped cars around atm the relative rarity of the PDK will prop up prices over and above the £2k option cost in the short and possibly medium terms but longer term as fewer and fewer focused drivers car are available with a manual box it will inevitably be manual GT4s which will command the higher price in a similar way as the manual 991.2 GT3 atm despite parity with PDK GT3s on manufacturing numbers.

At the moment how many left is showing the following for the 718 gt4

New Registered/ Manual / 718 gt4 = 524
New Registered/ PDK / 718 gt4 = 68

Now the 718 gt4 rs pdk has landed, I cant see the normal gt4 being available into 2023. But I may be totally wrong.

I think it’s a fascinating question around just how much longer they are going to build GT4s and indeed the 718 series for and how many more will be built. It seems to be a well founded assumption that these are going to be the last ‘analogue’ ICE cars (apart the electric power steering). But we all know that naturally aspirated, manual cars are a dying breed and these will be the last of them from Porsche, hence very special indeed.

I agree that once there are more PDKs in the system the current premiums will reduce and I would suspect that in the longer term purists will gravitate towards the manual cars. Not wanting to take anything away from the PDK which is an amazing piece of kit.

I don’t think there is a wrong decision as both gearbox’s have their respective pros and cons. Will be fascinating to see 718 GT4 prices over the next few years and beyond.

New Registered/ Manual / 718 gt4 = 524
New Registered/ PDK / 718 gt4 = 68

How accurate are these figures and where are they sourced from?

I think they are from the How Many Left website but only reflect sales up to end Q2 2021

If it is the case of of a 50/50 split and production doesn’t run into gt4 2023 the numbers of both cars will be fairly low. I guess covid has had an impact on deliveries.

Looking at the data there’s 604 uk registered manual 981 gt4 cars, Porsche have a habit of always increasing production so I would expect the final figure of uk 718 gt4 cars to be higher.
