Afternoon all,

Just took my 2010 Boxster Spyder out for a run and noticed that when I push the button for heated mirrors, no LED came on and the mirrors didn't defrost. They do move OK though in response to the joystick.

Before I go to get it looked at, first thought was that maybe a fuse has gone, so I checked the fuse assignment leaflet and couldn't see anything for heated mirrors. There is an entry for heated rear screen, which I thought might be the proxy (given that in other Boxsters the same switch does both), but when I checked the actual fuses, there isn't one. I tried putting one in, just in case, but nothing.

Thoughts?

I had a 2010 Spyder back in the day and it certainly had heayted mirrors. It certainly had the relevant switch ( with a heated rear screen symbol on it) but as the rear screen was a little but if plastic I am sure it was not itself heated !!

They definitely do. Hence the question

Let me rephrase - mine does! But mine also has air con, so maybe that has an impact?

Anyway, the heating elements for the mirrors must be regulated by a different fuse. If anyone knows which one, that would be great. If not, I guess I'm going to have to start pulling them, one by one headache

Just had the Spyder in for a service at Northway, so asked about the heated mirrors. They ran a diagnostic and it turns out the car had thrown a code. They reset it and I have my heated mirrors back. I would never have thought of that

I only recently learnt the rear de-mist button also did heated mirrors. Only took about 11 years of ownership!

It only does mirrors on the Spyder, due to plastic rear screen! So when that failed, the button was utterly useless. Bit like the one for raising and lowering the spoiler...the spoiler which is fixed in position

Yeah, knew the plastic screen wouldn’t demist! However, like the spoiler button I thought the rear screen one did nothing also. Not that I’m demisting my mirrors very regularly, but it was nice to find out it did that function.
