Just thought I’d share this as I couldn’t find relevant info myself when I researched a few months ago. Maybe people will find this useful.

In short - I’ve not once had an issue with noise on any of the tracks. Static testing reads anywhere between 90 and 98 dB. Last Saturday it read 90 dB with sports exhaust on.
Drive-by also no issues, including Bedford and Brands Hatch where limits are stricter. There were about 10 cars black flagged for noise at Bedford this weekend, GT3s amongst them but also BMW 6 series and others; I wasn’t one of them.
I never short-shift or not turn the sports exhaust on.

In short, 718 GTS 4.0 is perfectly fine as far as noise limits. I assume 718 GT4 will also be as it’s the same engine.

In static tests, my mate's standard 718 GT4 was 91dB at Oulton Park and mine with a Ninemeister replacement silencer was 90dB - both at 4k revs laugh

I think a random position of the mic accounts for the difference, and given that the valves are probably open at 4k(?) both silencers have straight through pipe sections in operation at that point so they'll be pretty much identical in noise levels. The OPFs seem to do most of the silencing with the valves open, as you'd expect.

Good to know you were OK on drive-bys though, I reckon I'd be OK too smile

I think model year is also an important ref point, as I was black-flagged in my 2016 MY Boxster, in Standard mode.
I am told that year on year cars are quieter as noise and emission regulations get stricter.
