Well, it has to be asked has anyone been offered a GT4 RS allocation yet?

I am aware some dealerships have been phoning potential customers..

Really?!

I am very suprised any dealer is having to call anybody to offer them a build slot for a GT RS car these days!

They're obviously contacting the VIP customers at the top of the list - it's not that they can't sell them!

I think my OPC will have called the top two customers on their list so they will know where they stand by now. If it's not a numbered edition car with one per dealer they'll both be getting one.

For the rest of the Centre's big spenders on the list they'll be waiting on allocation numbers before deciding who gets the remaining cars I suspect.

Even if it is a numbered car, i think most dealers will be getting at least 2 cars!

Turbo S exclusive numbers are highly unlikey!!

Agree, they wont have confirmation of build numbers for most models until sometime in December, GT4RS included!

No more than 2000 cars worldwide is the latest Rennlist rumour. 2 cars per UK dealer would be around 90 cars? Would the UK really get 5% of the worldwide production?

I seem to recall that the UK used to be around 10% of this market ... but times change.

996GT3RS UK was almost 20% .... but USA was zero ?

I would think so.

1948 speedsters and i think most OPC's had 2, with some maybe getting 3?

In recent times UK get typically at least 10% of total global GT cars. My sales guy told me last week they expect to get 3-4 GT4 RS in total which roughly translates into 150-200 for the UK whole.

ETA Contrary to above UK only got 5% of total global 991 Speedsters

Thats quite a few then, bonus for uk customers!

If only 5 % speedsters then i'd guess it would be similar for 4RS

150-200 or 3-4 per dealer isn't what I'd call "quite a few" laugh And yep, 5% would be 2 or possibly 3 GT4RSs for the larger dealers so most people will be disappointed.

I think it'll be interesting to see who actually commits to buy one and how that stacks up against people who also want a 992 GT3 or GT3RS. I suspect people are going to have to decide which they want most as they'll only get one of the three.

Just seen this on Rennlist from a very well informed poster which matches how I think my OPC is going to play this:

Chris3963 on Rennlist said:
You guys are arguing over the virtues of the GT3 vs the GT4 RS on the assumption that the buyer is cross shopping the two. There are a huge number of buyers out there that have multiple cars so it's not a question of choosing one over the other, rather its simply a question of whether you are going to get an allocation or not. These buyers will suck up all the limited production very, very easily and even many of those buyers will be disappointed.

In my case, it looks like I am going to be one of the disappointed ones. I put in a signed EOI with a small holding deposit almost 4 years ago when I first heard about the car. I was first name down at my dealer. Well, last week I get the call. My dealer is only getting 2, maybe 3, 4 RSs next year.....and considering I am also getting a GT3 Touring....I would have to choose....GT3 Touring or GT4 RS . They are just trying to be fair to their good customers so at least some get one or the other.

It's a very hard choice...but I have gone for the Touring...but still have my hat in the ring for a 4 RS in case they get more cars.

I'm pretty sure that anyone getting either a Touring or a GT4 RS would have been told by now. FWIW I'm not getting either and will keep my RS WP for the foreseeable future. I strongly suspect that in many less scrupulous OPCs their favoured 'flippers' will now know they're getting one of the very first ones to maximise the pre-arranged agreement with the DP to share the proceeds.

I wouldn't sell my WP RS either, but my GT4 is another matter
