Had it since new in September 2012. It started out as my playing out car, toured Europe once in 2013, became my daily for a short period and then became my winter sports car coming out between October and April when other stuff came along.
Just had it MOTd and driven it for a couple of days and still absolutely love it. It's just so good at everything and so easy to live with. PPF from new, garaged and cared for as well as a refurb for the wheels and it still looks like new. Epic car.
I will never sell it.
Anyone else got a long term Porker? (I've got an E92 M3 I've had from new in April 2008 as well. What can I say, I'm sentimental).

Only 35k as I’m jumping from car to car depending on time of year and what I’m doing and I don’t have a commute.
Yeah I think we did see each other in Scotland but I would have been either in a green and yellow Exige (lads trip), Flying Spur (wife and dog trip) or my 458 Spider (another lads trip) but not the Porsche. Which trip it was I’m not sure?
Lovely looking motors above. :-)

Yeah been visiting Scotland due to that there Covid, back to Europe now. Off to the south coast of Spain next week via the Peco Mountains. Scotland has some great roads though and the Alston Pass is a superb route to get up there.

I did own a 987.1 Cayman S for over 12 years from new, and only sold it because it threw me a catastrophically high maintenance/repair bill about a year after a series of fairly high maintenance/repair bills. I hadn't crashed or otherwise damaged the car, my particular car just wasn't a cheap car to keep in good nick. But it was lovely and otherwise very much a keeper until that point.
I sold the car to someone who owns a trackday company, and it is (hopefully still) now available for hire at Spa or the 'Ring.
When I had it:
And now:
The Cayman above overlapped with this one, which I sold in July 2020 after 4 and a half years. Blew hot and cold with it, not a keeper:
Sold it back to my OPC and replaced with this one, which probably will be a keeper. I love Caymans!
Like the OP, I also have a long term M3, mine is an E90 manual LCI saloon that I've owned from new since 2009. Been out in it today for an hour's drive, it's still a cracking car and definitely a keeper (until it throws me a catastrophic bill beyond sensible economic repair...)

You have a substantial garage, are they all at the same property? Ie, do you have to make a substantial decision about what to drive every time you go out? Or are they spread out a bit geographically?
I assume the merc is the workhorse?

All stored at home. I have a triple attached to the back of the house and a quad with a games room and garage plus three separate driveways. Merc GL is a workhorse aye. Tows my RT4 trailer to race meets, track days, classic shows, my mountain bike trailer to trails, tip, moving kids to and from uni and myriad other jobs. Had that since new in December '13 too. Superb bit of kit.You have a substantial garage, are they all at the same property? Ie, do you have to make a substantial decision about what to drive every time you go out? Cars wise I tend to use the GL all year round and just tax what I fancy using each month depending on what I'm doing. I just tax em on DDM and SORN one as I put another on the road. Classics are taxed all year round but are weather dependent as I try not to get them wet if I can manage it.
There's a build thread of the quad.

And I recently updated on the 'Who has the best garage on PH?' thread that's been running sometime now.

Sorry, thread is digressing.

Thanks for the informative and open reply. Intesting points about the road tax too. It’s ridiculous that the U.K. doesn’t have some kind of transferable road tax. So why the classic cars, what attracted you to them and why the spread of diversity in the classics? It’s not like they were ‘first cars’ as your not that old!
Read how you made your money, I think it’s great that you’ve stepped back from the absolute mountain of effort you must have put in to build the business, and are hopefully young enough and fit enough to enjoy the proceeds. Your family must be very thankful to get you back too.

Just stuff I like with a ground rule of no 2 cars that ‘do’ the same thing across the whole collection. No more thought than that really. I just buy and keep what I like that can offer a different experience. So why the classic cars, what attracted you to them and why the spread of diversity in the classics?
