Afternoon,

Approaching my 50th and a previous 911 3.2 owner looking at getting back into something decent.

Flitting between 997 GTS amongst other things. My good friend now says get into one of these 18 months old in a bright colour.

Aside from only fitting only 1 of the 3 kids is he right and will I enjoy ?

I test drove one last week, having previously had a 981 GT4. The car is a great package and the powertrain is the highlight. Engine is strong, plenty of torque and the manual gearbox is as slick as ever. Standard Cayman seating position - perfect. What surprised me though, was an almost complete lack of noise, even with the sports exhaust selected on. I was also quite surprised at the ride and handling when compared to the GT4. Having watched all the reviews, the common sentiment is that they are 90% of a GT4. IMO, the handling falls well short and the noise is muted. That said, they are a great GT type car with impressive performance. I’d definitely recommend a test drive.

It's true the noise is muted compared to the 981s but it still sounds absolutely lovely (certainly above 4k revs) and it gets noticeably louder with miles (mines now touching 5k miles)

But it doesn't have that race car scream my old 981 GTS use to have.... (miss that)
