I got a message in my 718 GTS about brake pads wearing thin and I booked the appointment to have them done, but before I had the chance to visit the garage this happened. I get werid noise under braking & obviously something is scraping the disc.

Will this be just a routine rear pad replacement (I booked an indy garage ) or is this something more serious which I should consider claiming under warranty?

backing plate has come off, looks like no pad left at all. must be relying on PTV too much when driving , ie seem you are over driving the car and PTV is letting you get away with it at the cost of BIG rear pad wear.

Just tap that backing pate back in and drive slow atm.

Thanks.
I’ve done a few trackdays in it, I often left all traction control on and mode in Normal or Sport but not Sport Plus.
I’m assuming this might have meant PTV was doing most of the work?

I'd be keeping alot more attention on the status of your brake pads/discs given the way you appear to be driving her. Visual inspections and just don't wait for the low pad warning.

That looks like the anti-squeal shim has separated from the pad backplate (probably due to overheating as a result of your track use) rather than the pad being totally worn out and becoming misplaced.
Judging by the lack of scoring to the disc face, I think you'll get away with a straightforward pad replacement smile
