718 Brakes stuck after period of no use?
Discussion
I've been on honeymoon for the past month, got back and the brakes seemed to be stuck. When I put the car into drive, it wasn't enough to get the car moving. I really had to give it some revs to get it off the spot with a rather nasty sounding crack. The wife said, "That didn't sound good."
This was a week ago, the car has been fine since, brakes still work like normal, currently using it daily and they're fine each morning.
Is it normal for them to stick like this, it was only a month? I'm likely going to have it off road for at least 4 months November-february but I don't want it to end up stuck on the spot.

There was an issue with early 981 cars but I think its been rectified. The brake pedal bush would become sticky or enlarged or whatever which caused the pedal to not return up after braking. This had the effect of leaving the brakes binding as you drove. Until I had the bush changed I had to return my pedal to the up position using my toes. They issued a revised bush to fix this - but no factory recall shame on you Porsche. So it might be worth checking your pedal is in the fully up position. Sounds ridiculous I know.
Generally I believe this sticking can happen with any car if you park up with hot brakes. So if your brakes are getting overly hot as you drive they are more likely to bind when parked. It might be worth giving them a little feel next time you drive it and you park it. How hot are they?
If something is binding or you're driving with left foot on the brake slightly you may be getting them hot without realising. In the days when I lived near good roads I'd always give the car a little cool down time before parking.

Maybe look at getting some Bilt Hamber Atom Mac to try when you know it’s going to be parked up for a while.
The brakes on some cars are just more prone to rusting ime although it does seem to get worse as they wear. On my Golf
R they would turn vivid orange in a day or two. My Boxster gets garaged so not such an issue for me.
