GT4RS - What’s the latest/anyone placed deposit?

All seems to have gone a wee bit quiet on the RS front? Anyone chatted up their OPC for one/placed a deposit?

I registered an interest a while back. The OPC sales guy called to see if I was still keen and to strike up a conversation about a month ago. Looks like they are definitely coming…

a few folk a month or so ago mentioned they have been given allocations.

As far as I'm aware, it's coming later this year but final allocation numbers have yet to be confirmed to Dealer Principals. Expectations are that there won't be many, so if you're not top of your dealer's list you ain't getting one.

That's the gist of what I'm hearing anyway!

Yea likewise, sounds like there won’t be many. Last chat with OPC was that GT4/Spyder are now “N/A” on their systems - despite quite a few deposits being held. Wonder if “Junior GT” production is instead getting flipped over to GT4 RS only, or is that not how it works?

That's how it's worked for 911 GT3s up to now I think. Regular GT3 first, then into the GT3 RS with either a slight overlap or none at all.

The Rennlist rumours are that the spec is awesome, but until it's fully revealed who knows? The GT4 Clubsport race car is getting an upgrade for the 2022 season which usually begins at Daytona in January, and it will be closely linked to the GT4RS. Therefore it's likely to come out in the next six months or so, and quite likely this year.

As for numbers to be produced, people are expecting it to be low volume but how low is low? 1-2 cars per OPC seems to be the best guess at the moment which would be what, 2000 cars worldwide?

Centrelocks, PDK, cage, buckets, carbon bonnet, plexiglass, a few trick bits n bobs, ceramics as an option….?

Price, £105K basic plus options/ceramics etc?

I think similarly to you plus 450bhp-ish, PDK only, vented bonnet and front wings, trick rear quarter engine cooling/air intake system.

Be a bit of a weapon to be fair, always feel mine feels a bit underpowered.

No deposit asked for as nothing showing on their system yet to put it against. After what I spent last year with them I'm glad !!!!!

I heard the outer Hebrides OPC was taking deposits!

I was in Porsche Edinburgh last night and asked the sales team what they knew about it and how many they expected to see. They said they expect to only get 1. Such a shame if that is going to be the case.

Could have been their way of saying I have zero chance.

They also said 718's and Carrera model production to be stopped during 2022.
