GT4 PDK DELAYS?
Discussion
Hi just wondering if anyone has experienced similar delays as I have.
I placed my deposit on a PDK GT4 in May time and the spec/ allocation was locked in by June for a July build, so was expecting the car mid August. I wanted to pick the car up on the 1st of September but when speaking to my local dealer today they advised the car has only begun being built this week. They're expecting the car 3rd week of September.
I'm not panicking but just curious to see if anyone else has received similar delays recently on July builds.

Plenty of delays discussed on here and in the news, not unique to GT4s or Porsche.
How can you not already be aware of this?
Very simple, I don't sit on forums all day reading through the masses of pages on here. How can you not already be aware of this?
But thankyou for clearing it up that little bit more despite the little bit of negativity.
I'm interested in the people that have been told their car will be built in July and wondering if their cars have been pushed back as far as mine (nearly 2 months)
Delays are happening and will get worse in short term, its been a huge problem of 2021 and will continue into 2022 and normality won't resume until mid/late 2023 no doubt.
Also used and new car demand is increasing as in a few more year time these amazing cars will no longer be available, batteries are coming and they are so boring.

Can only dread to think what the future holds in that respect, How lucky will we feel when all new drivers only know electric cars. Also used and new car demand is increasing as in a few more year time these amazing cars will no longer be available, batteries are coming and they are so boring.
When the GT4 turns up I'm definitely looking to keep it for as long as possible unless I can get an allocation for a 4RS but either way going to be seriously happy with what I'm getting.

^ what they said.
It's got nothing to do with sitting on forums all day, production delays and restricted supplies are affecting all industries. It's all over the news!
So if I turn on the BBC its going to answer my question on how long other people have been waiting for their July slots to be built? Unfortunately seeing Nandos running out of chicken and closing stores doesn't answer that. It's got nothing to do with sitting on forums all day, production delays and restricted supplies are affecting all industries. It's all over the news!
Obviously not that's why I've put it on a forum asking for experiences with other dealers for the July build slot to see if they are experiencing the same delay as me.

My GT4 PDK was ordered in May built in July and delivered to me August. I hope this helps.
Thankyou for your response, I wish I was in the same fortunate situation, it's weird because I was told by the dealer at the end of July that the car and my fathers Spyder were being built then (Around the 28/07 this was)So I think they must've just misinformed me or something delayed it a bit further for whatever reason whether its parts or whatever. Luckily it should be here in the next 3 weeks though!!

Hi, there are definitely delays. My Spyder was due mid-July and now expected to be built by 10th September and delivered to dealer early October. My PDK Boxster 25 has been in build since mid July and every single week the due in dealer date has moved, up to this week is went further out each week by around a week. This week it came back a couple of weeks and is now due early Sept rather than late Sept. Bottom line is it is probably not wise to plan any exciting events with the car until you actually get it parked on your drive. This way you won’t be disappointed. This is very unlike Porsche in my experience over a lot of years and cars. There is no doubt the Automotive industry is struggling to build cars. Enjoy the car when it arrives it will be worth the wait.
As others have said unfortunately the whole automotive industry is experiencing delays due to labour and parts issues.
I ordered my GT4 PDK in October 2020. It was built in July and I took delivery of the car early August. It’s also important to remember that in August the factory is shut for holidays.
Also a heads up prepare to wait a while for an owners manual and spare key. There’s a shortage of these parts and roughly a 2-3 month wait. For collection it’s likely you will only be given one key until another becomes available.

My allocation was confirmed nearly a year ago but knew I would have to wait for the PDK.
I was recently told late August or September delivery but no news since. I’m popping in to my OPC later today for an update.
Hmmm, sounds like you need to know when your build slot date was/is? Did they tell you?I was recently told late August or September delivery but no news since. I’m popping in to my OPC later today for an update.

Build date is (I’m told) mid September with delivery in October? In these unusual times I’m expecting it will probably be November or even later
I would ask for a screen shot of the dates from the system. My Spyder build completion is 10th September with delivery expected in early October. Tony718 said:

I was told by my dealer that it started to be built last week, they've said to me it'll be with me for the 3rd week of September but I'm thinking its going to be more October based on the responses. Fingers crossed it is third week though. jake1248 said:
