Recently purchased a 718 GT4, have put about 700 miles on it and have started to hear a ticking noise which comes from the front left arch (by the sounds of it). Just gone over the 1000 mile mark. Has anybody else experienced this, if so what exactly is it and does it go?

Mine made all sorts of weird and wonderful noises, I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about.

Mine also had a few interior rattles which fixed themselves somehow.

Cheers mate - it’s a clubsport spec so has the rollcage which rattled like nobody’s business. That seems to have fixed itself…

You’ll get used to it and the paranoia will fade! Brilliant cars, health to enjoy.

Could be a stone stuck in the tyre or something caught in the archliner rubbing on the tyre. Some cars have had clicking noises (sounds like the CV joint when worn) when cornering due to friction on the hub / wheel interface which is remedied by 1) adding some alu or copper slip onto the faces and 2) ensuring correct torque of the wheel nuts / bolts, but I doubt that this is the case here.

These cars make many more noises than more "comfort-spec" cars so nothing to worry about I would say - compared to a R35 GT-R, the noises that the GT4 makes is nothing compared to that!

As said, I wouldn't worry but you could always check the above and/or take her into your OPC for peace of mind.

It's been resolved - I visited Porsche, it was a leaf/pebbles stuck by the fan causing it to rattle.
