Hello! & 987 Cayman PCM query

Hello all,

Been on PH a while, but I’ve just bought my first Porsche, a 2007 987 Cayman 2.7 with a Carnewal Exhaust.

Forgive me if this has been covered before, but googling and going 10 pages back on this forum didn’t bring up an answer!

My car is running what I believe to be PCM2.1, with the Bose system. (You can see where this is going)

I want to gain the functionality to connect my phone via Bluetooth for calls and streaming music as a minimum. AppleCarPlay would be an added bonus, cost dependant.

I’ve seen a lot of different options for achieving this, some seem to use a Dension box to make use of the existing screen, and others seem to opt for buying a circa £300 facia with Bose fibre optic adapter kit, and then another £250 or so on an aftermarket double din head unit.

What’s peoples opinions and does anyone know a Dension savvy chap who could install Nr Sussex?

I bought a £120 Bluetooth unit from Amazon also on EBay that goes into the most system and behaves like the cd multichanger.

Integrates with PCM but no CarPlay. Worked a treat.
