OPC service costs - fixed price servicing gone?
Discussion
I've just had an OPC quote for a major service on my 987S - over £1,000 including £695 for the service itself.
Does the fixed price serving for older cars not exist anymore (they didn't seem to recognise it at all). I'll dig out my old invoices, but I remember it being a lot cheaper when that was in place.

Why are you using a main OPC, surely a good indi is now the way to go on that model..Does the fixed price serving for older cars not exist anymore (they didn't seem to recognise it at all). I'll dig out my old invoices, but I remember it being a lot cheaper when that was in place.
Will not make any difference when you come to sell...

The OPC used to give me such a good discount that the cost was really close to most decent Indys anyway. Will not make any difference when you come to sell...
It’s useful to get a courtesy car too, and most Indys can’t provide that. My local Indy (Charles Ivey) is within walking distance of home, but actually seems to charge more than.OPC full prices!
I don’t care about the OPC history as I’ll never sell the car, and any work arising goes to an Indy unless OPC come close to the price.
Its made some kind of sense (to me at least!), but I doubt I’ll do it going forward if the differential in price has gone up.

Hi, these are snapshots from the leaflet. Only Participating Centres offered these prices. Others may have been more or less!
Thanks. It’s not hugely different in that case. This is the equivalent of the year 8 service which was £925 anyway. If I take off the £55 the OPC are quoting for extras then it’s £1,025 this time.
I’ll still get an Indy quote I think.
Recently had a quote of £900 for a minor service on my 2007 997T. A 40% increase since the last minor. I have pointed out that my salary hasn’t gone up 40% in that time. This is the last Service under warranty and it has definitely confirmed that my car will be coming out of the OPC network now even though it is conveniently located.

Definitely get away from OPC at that age. It adds no value to 90% of buyers.
Typically the difference between OPC and Indy has been less than £100, which for me is more than offset by the convenience of having a a courtesy car for a couple of days. Now it looks like the difference is several times that, it is time to move away. I'm not worried about resale as the car is a long term keeper.

Can anyone recommend a good Indy in the London/SE area?
The one I've just got a quote from is the same price as the OPC!
Have a day off and go up to Reason Porsche in Suffolk - straight up the A12, absolutely first class service received from them recently. All OE Porsche parts used and half the price of an OPC service, and much less waiting time (to book in). HTH. https://www.reasonporsche.com/The one I've just got a quote from is the same price as the OPC!
