Everyone's different, spec it how you want it. It's as simple as that.

All of them, or none of them, depending on who you ask.

I'd say buckets are a must though smile

Spec is very subjective. It also depends if its a weekend car or a daily?

The 981 buckets are most popular. Clubsport package was a must for me as well but mines only used on weekends. I wouldnt have chosen CS pack if it was daily driven. Extended leather is nice on the dash, especially for the cost of the car, this should have been standard. Cruise control was a must and again in 2021 should be standard on a £75k+ car. Parking sensors ditto. PCM with nav/ apple car play. Brakes and gearbox are up to you, both are fantastic.

Some options I wouldnt bother with after having them:

Dual zone climate - Never touched it. Standard AC would have done just fine
BOSE - 90% of the time its turned off as im listening to the car
Sports chrono - Adds nothing to the GT4 apart from a fancy clock and a lap timer

An engineer with fit for purpose con rods. In all seriousness, it really depends what you intend to use it for. As an example club sport pack only makes sense if you are going to use it on track regularly.

It gives you the Track Precision app though, which I think is pretty cool for recording track days. Probably not as good as a vbox but not as expensive...

Disagree re. climate, the import bit is "climate" not "dual" on Caysters.

Agree on the other two though, even though I have the SC clock biggrin

Buckets seats are the only must have on a GT car IMO.
The rest is your preference.

Climate is worth it for the money. The whole point is you never have to touch it, because it will always bring the car to the same temperature.

With the manual aircon you're forever fiddling with it depending on if it's a cold or warm day.

Edit: and if you don't spec buckets, have you considered a GTS with comforts instead?

Spec it how you want it.

The 918 buckets not 981 are brilliant. I have a 981 GT4 with almost every option ticked apart from PCCBs which I didn't want anyway.

In my opinion the rear cage as part of Club Sport package does not intrude as a daily if you're going to daily the car, you still get the same access and space for boot and the frunk.

Mine has the Club Sport pack and it doesn't intrude at all.

I'd also definitely spec climate.

Spec it for yourself unless you're looking to spec it for the 'average' GT4 secondhand buyer when you sell rolleyes

Bottom line there is no Mr Average and extras are a trade off between how much they cost and what 'value' they add come resale. If you don't have 918 seats then the car will be cheaper to buy and sell secondhand. It's as simple as that, as there are buyers who will want standard seats etc.

Dual climate is a 'must have' for me as I want to set a temperature and forget it. Others will be happy with manual AC.

Cruise is a waste of time when it's not adaptive so I wouldn't see the need for it but others will.

Cage can 'rattle' no issue if you spend most time on track but on our potholed roads?

Couldn't agree more.

If you spec for resale then that's what will happen.
If you spec for yourself then you'll enjoy it that much more every time you drive it or glance at it on the drive.

For clarification, it doesn't "rattle" but does "ping" or "creak" occasionally smile

Oh, and the actual answer is...
Buckets
If you're going to track it then Clubsport else not
Anything to take the standard (scratched aluminium effect?) trim off the dash - interior in external colour if that works, else carbon
Reversing camera
Cruise control to protect your licence on motorways
More affordable nice touches are 12 o'clock marking/seat-belts on different colour, Race-Tex Sun Visors

Don't spec one with engine issues. biggrin:

Plenty discussed on other GT4 threads already regarding option if you want to search relevant threads.

Depends how long you want to keep it and as others have rightly said spec it primarily for yourself but if you intend selling in the short to medium term definitely have one eye on the market as well otherwise it could cost you more ££ if you are bothered re possible depreciation.

Several no brainer options which add good value ££ in excess of option cost new and what most buyers of lightly used GT4s demand would be buckets, extended leather, alcantara with 12 oclock marker, carbon, chrono, climate and to a lesser extent coloured stitching and light package upgrade, auto dim rain sensor and electric folding mirrors. Clubsport and to a lesser degree pccbs do very little to add appreciable value particularly as the car ages.

Expensive frippery such as Bose rear camera coloured dials cruise grossly extended leather and possibly pts can limit appeal and actually adversely impact on value.

I think my high spec, leathered up, PTS GT4 had plenty of appeal on the second hand market. It certainly didn’t adversely impact the value when I sold it.
