I am not new to TD's and have done most in TVR's.

I am booked in for a couple of TD's in the next few months with my Skoda TD car if all goes Covidly to plan.

As we are getting nearer I am very tempted to use my S. It is a really nice RS60 example and I would be loath to damage it mechanically. Thoughts are oil surge/lack of oil at pickup through higher cornering speeds.

I would use a spare set of wheels that I have shod with Toyo R888's which give increased grip.

I'm not worried about the rest of the car, I am sure it is built to take it but a few seconds, (or more possibly) without oil would be a disaster!

Would this happen?

What are your experiences please?

Thanks.

I have used mine in track regularly without any issue (touch wood). If you're worried, perhaps use a more run of the mill road tyre to limit lateral G.

I'd also ensure that you have a decent high temperature oil in the car. I use miller's but there are plenty of others out there

I did a day at Bedford in my 987.1 2.7 and had loads of fun so definitely go for it! I don't think that increased grip equals more fun though so probably wouldn't bother with the R888 and if your tyres are at the point of overheating then it's probably a good sign to do a cool down lap and have a break smile

Was going to use my Octy vRS at Coombe next Friday but the clutch has just started to slip so it's a no go.

Enter my Boxster which will be pressed into service.......watch this space.

Absolutely great!

What great handling! I'm sure I could lap quicker in this than my old 400 bhp TVR.

I used a set of Toyo 888's and can't stress how good the car was.

I used the sports setting, (suspension, different map and exhaust). It really was on rails.......

There would be little point in any upgrades apart from a baffled sump it was so good.

Bumps that my TVR mates were complaining about were ironed out!

Brilliant!
