First ever post on PH, and I don't think I've seen a definitive answer to this, but I could be wrong!

I've got a 987.2 Cayman with the bog standard CDR30 (no aux-in, no bluetooth), and I've bought a cheap BT adapter from China, which comes attached to a ready made wiring loom that looks like this:

I like the idea, as I can easily rip it out if there's ever a need to claim for something on the warranty, however this is drawing power from the supply to the radio on pins 12 and 15 (highlighted in yellow).

My question is: is this a switched supply? I know I can run the positive cable back to the fuse box, but I'm lazy so want to avoid this if I can!

All suggestions welcome...

You might want to look at the canbus adapters from Connect2. That will turn the permanent live into an ignition switched live.

Their universal canbus adapter looks ideal, thanks!

Hi, did you get this sorted ? I’m in a similar position of wanting to stream music into my CDR30 but can’t figure out how best to do it without splicing wires (eg. As the A2D-CDR30 item suggests!).

Any help would be be appreciated!

I have an Aux on the CDR30, which I think is connected to a 3.5mm Jack in the centre cubby.

I got it working fine, using the ADP110 canbus adapter from Connects2. The cheap BT module was perfectly good for music, but rubbish for handsfree calling, so only a partial success, and I've since replaced the headunit with a Sony.
