Hi I am toying wth the idea of taking out the existing seat centres from my bucket seats as fitted to the GT4. Ideally I would like to keep the original centres and buy a replacement set and get them retrimmed in a different colour or material, not sure what yet.
Any ideas or links or pictures would be great
I guess this is what lock down boredom does to people lol

I used Ed's bolster covers, they're very well made, and they look OEM, but he also does centre cushions, have a look for inspiration:

Cheers great find. Do they ship to UK and have you any pics ?
I like the green inserts and was thinking of blue to match the sapphire blue paint

Cheers i will search for "ralphmusic" assuming he is a PH member

The centres are just velcroed in so easy enough to take of and retrim

Yeah, they do, and I just have the standard black and yellow bolster covers, no pics. They're very well made though. Drop Ed an email, nice guy.

Blimey just seen those prices ! HOw much would it cost to rerim the seat as that is very expensive for a set of bolster covers or are they that good they are worth it

How much is a re-trim?

By the time you've paid for the EdGuard stuff, including shipping and duty, you could probably get the whole seat done, but it would depend on what material you choose.

My top tip would be to go to a marine upholsterer with the original cushions to get measured up and ask for a set to be made up using foam and material - they're used to doing odds and bits to suit boat seats. You might get a bit of extra padding or a denser grade of foam also.

The car trimmer we use is good, but pricey, whereas the boat guy is as good, half the price, but doesn't work in leather. The boat guy also comes to site, whereas I have to take the car to the auto trimmer.

Pepita is the hounds tooth/puppy tooth cloth - you can probably find similar for less.

TBH - put the money towards a set of tyres!

ETA - what about a blue tartan? https://www.scotlandshop.com/fabric-guide/car-upho...

Just one of those things. I viewed it as a small cost in comparison to the cost of the car and the fact that I’m a 6’4” oaf. Think I paid about £500. They are very well made and I don’t regret it one bit.

Of course there would be import duty to pay, so make sure the value is declared properly wink

Would you recommend Dave to trim my passenger side mat to fit around the fire extinguisher, or is there a cheaper OEM option?

My local trimmer did it for £30. It's just a simple cut out, my guy trimmed the exposed edge with alcantara which is a decent match and it's hidden under the extinguisher anyway.

Perfect, could you pop his details in here or PM me please?

I'm sure there's an OEM part/Mat that is cut properly, it a touch cheap of Porsche to not include it...

Not a GT4 but gives you an idea.

Bolster covers (from the US I think, got them 2nd hand) and black/silver ‘911R‘ inserts from ClassixFX

PM'd.

Porsche do not have an OEM part that fits as far as I'm aware.

Classic fx is the place to go as Garry gets the original cloth patterns and a perfect replacement fit. I've got a blue tartan insert that I've yet to put in rolleyes

I bought the tartan from the Scotland Shop and had a trimmer Porsche Reading use to do them, much cheaper and I wanted a particular family tartan.

Another vote for Gary at classic fx. He’s fine several of my cars. He has the oem houndstooth cloth in 2 shades and is very competitively priced compared to the rest of the market.

He’s recently done the seats in my 718 spyder in a tartan as well which he sourced for me and charge 690 all in including the material.

Thank you.

I could have sworn I read that there was a part to fit, but that could have just been the GT3/RS

There used to be a part on the 9x7 series I think? I've not seen one for the 9x1 series...
