A few months ago when I bought the 987 Spyder I looked into getting a CarPlay mod for the PCM3.0.
Unfortunately only available for PCM3.1.
Seems they’re now available for PCM3.0.
£499 inc vat for the Navinc system.
Anyone tried it yet?

Cant work out where one can actually get it installed from though. Does one have to buy the parts and fit yourself?

I think Cartronics in Surrey are a Navinc supplier and can fit:
https://www.cartronics.co.uk/apple-carplay
Will check with them tomorrow.

I wanted to keep the original head unit with Bose system in my 987.1. I had a Dension Gateway 500 fitted by a mobile guy in Surrey at my house.
This links to your phone by either cable, (To charge as well) or Bluetooth to your existing system. Hands-free phone and music please effortlessly through the existing system and keep the whole lot looking standard.

This keeps everything standard too - but you get the benefits of CarPlay. This links to your phone by either cable, (To charge as well) or Bluetooth to your existing system. Hands-free phone and music please effortlessly through the existing system and keep the whole lot looking standard.

Surely its a different screen and not the standard head unit?
No, retains original head unit and screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLuFoRXZ4UMX8xm...

Thank you. What did they say as I approached them earlier in the year and their PCM 3 CarPlay offering at the time was, to quotehttps://www.cartronics.co.uk/apple-carplay

"We can add Carplay to the factory head unit, it would work via AUX and touch screen.
Cost is £1450 fitted"
I installed the system on PCM 3.1 myself about a year ago. It was relatively easy and I assume the 3.0 would be similar. I bought the system off Alibaba for around $300. It is the same kit that they resell in the UK with installation and is supported by a team in Hong Kong.
On PCM 3.1 you can switch between porche nav and carplay by pressing the NAV button. No loss of function and when you put the car in reverse when using carplay the porsche camera comes on without having to press anything. i.e. the same as a standard car. The added benefit is that it is wireless as well. I have a 2013 Cayenne GTS and with this upgrade I have decided to keep the car.

No offence to Watford, but thats the last place on Earth I'd go to.
I don’t think it really matters where a supplier is based for a piece of kit from the Netherlands! They’re one of the few U.K. retailers. As Hobo said though, he sourced kit from China, so there’s that option too.
Good to see it’s finally available for PCM3.0 because it wasn’t when I checked in February.

Joyeauto Wireless Apple Carplay For Porsche Cayenne Macan Cayman Panamera Boxster 718 911 PCM3.1 Android Auto Car Play Adapter
You can buy direct from them but it worked out more expensive. Joyeauto have a load of videos that you can follow which make it easy for someone that has built their own PC (for example).
Please note, this is for PCM3.1 and not 3.0 as in the OP.

Looks like the Joyeauto setup for PCM 3.0 (987.2 / 997.2) enabling Apple CarPlay Wireless / Android Auto is now available. Came across this video of the install process - seems much the same as for the PCM 3.1 version, so taking the unit apart, fitting another PCB, connecting it up, powering the external box and hiding away the cables, etc.

No idea if / when Porsche will release a CarPlay unit like they did for the 'Porsche Classic PCM' but this looks a pretty compelling for around $500.

Had the JoyAuto PCM 3.0 unit installed on my 2009 997GT2, doesn't work..... my installer is doing a report to send to PayPal so I can get a refund. A waste of a few hundred in installation/deinstallation costs
ah but did you buy it direct or viahttps://www.nmautomotive.co.uk/
the latter is the way to go. UK support and NMautomotive amend the UI to look more factory than the standard JoyAuto PCM3
Don't be confused that it is not on their site, it is available from them, just out of Beta testing.... and an example of their support on the recent PCM3.0, and people saying how supportive they are @

If the former, direct from JoyAuto, then get a refund from JoyAuto and buy it again from NMautomotive (and Sextons is their approved installer, though they have others too) and you'll have super support on the installation and a more factory looking user interface.
