718 GT4 UK Allocations
Discussion
Hi Folks,
Apologies if this topic has already been covered previously. I have been away for awhile.
Does anyone know even roughly what the UK allocations are for the 718 GT4? I previously had a 981 Spyder from new which I absolutely loved - had it for just over a year - it was my daily & did some nice road trips. When I came to sell I even made a tiny bit on it. I have been offered a 718 GT4 allocation. This for me would be a massive purchase. I would like to have some fun for maybe a couple of years but don't want to be rinsed when I come to sell. I know we all don't have a crystal ball but i did hear that for this GT4 iteration there were going be much higher numbers. Cheers

Some people may say this is too harsh but personally I’d go into it thinking it will cost you between £20k and £30k to own it. I think cars are already available at list so that implies owners are getting something like £5k less than they paid if they are selling SoR.
According to howmanyleft there were 240 in the country at the end of Q1 with just under 200 Spyder’s. So between the two of them a healthy amount already. With the 981 I think it was roughly 600 GT4’s and 200 Spyder’s so I think it’s a fair assumption that volumes will be increased on that.
If you can afford it go for it !

The old 981 GT4 can now be bought for around £65-70k (list was £65k)Apologies if this topic has already been covered previously. I have been away for awhile.

When they came out you could not get one for love nor money and they were selling for around £110-120k which was silly
The new 718 GT4 can now be bought for around £85-100k (list price £76k)
Judging by a few posts on here, a new one is available if you ring around.
Make of that what you will.

Re values, of course you will lose some money on one but I suspect it will likely be a lot
Less than almost all other Similar performance cars new cars out there. Me, I’m going to spec mine for myself and drive it a lot/enjoy every mile. Will decide in a few years Whether to keep longer term or trade against another new GT car.
Where else can you buy a 4 litre, N/A, manual, mid engined sports car these days? Stuff like this just doesn’t get built anymore.
Who knows, in a few years it may be even more difficult to buy something like this, if not impossible. It’s still pretty hard to get one now, I don’t think you’d have much luck just ringing round.

Yes, agreed. BMW have given up by going turbo, merc don’t appeal so that just leaves the Italians Who knows, in a few years it may be even more difficult to buy something like this, if not impossible. It’s still pretty hard to get one now, I don’t think you’d have much luck just ringing round.

Why is the new GT4 so easily available at OPC and more importantly why they not selling de well
I fancy one but would prefer one with PDK if posdible . Any news on if this will be made or not ?
Yep all coming in PDK. I fancy one but would prefer one with PDK if posdible . Any news on if this will be made or not ?
They are selling ok, but the VIP have all pulled out knowing they dont't sell at overs, hence all the cancelled orders.
It’s not a cheap car now, and if you have a bit more a 2nd hand GT3 is a far better buy.

And there's the dilemma, a new GT4 or a used GT3They are selling ok, but the VIP have all pulled out knowing they dont't sell at overs, hence all the cancelled orders.

What age of Gt3 would you get for £90K? Say 2014 , 2015? If you are looking t that age of car would a 2016 GT4 not be a better buy
For me the GT3 is a lovely lovely car but probably to fast and too big for the roads I like to thrash around in. But if it it had rear seats then it could be a fantastic car as you could use it occasionally as a family car and take the kids with you. But I guess a 4 seater would not look good at the track so hence the 2 seat layout. If that is the case then surely just get the GT4 nd use the £25-30K saving on some epic track days
It's not a dilemma as you can't cross shop if you don't have budget for 125/130K, at the time of asking.
If you do have £125/130K - the only option is a 991.2 GT3 IMO. You can buy it, No mods required, drive the wheels off it.
90-100K is 991.1 GT3 territory... but I'd personally skip this (not knocking the car - just my opinion, and save more and to down to the next level...)
Up to 90K - the safe choice is the 718 GT4
Up to 70K - 981 GT4

100% this. I went for a 718 GT4 as I prefer the Cayman to the 911, and new cars, so for £90k-ish for a brand new car specced by me was what I wanted. It's an extra £40k-ish or 50% more for a 991.2 GT3 - a not insignificant increase. If you do have £125/130K - the only option is a 991.2 GT3 IMO. People aren't really cross shopping the 718 GT4 and the 991.2 GT3. If you can afford the GT3, that's what most people will buy.
