The mrs took the car today to visit some friends in Bristol (we're in London) and about 15 mins into her journey I get a call saying the CEL light is on. She comes back and luckily her mum isn't using her car so she took that.

I went to ECP and picked up a OBDII scanner and it comes up with:

P0491 Secondary Air Injection System Insufficient Flow Bank 1
P0492 Secondary Air Injection System Insufficient Flow Bank 2

Cleared the codes and took it out for about a 30 mile drive and the CEL has not returned. Any ideas? 2005 987 2.7

Hi as u have both codes,i would go for the air pump failure.

This can be tested with the diagnostic tester.
I have changed a few over last couple of years.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for that - where are you sourcing from? Design911 has them at circa £800 plus VAT

The one on Design911 website is for Gen2 cars, its a 981 part number.

The Porsche price is still showing £550.

Bit of a resurrection, I’ve just had the same codes come up on mine.

If I clear the codes could anyone advise how quick the EML come back on? Also, is it something that needs to be looked at asap or can it wait a bit?
