Does anyone know if Porsche makes a roof system/bars for bikes?

I checked the Tequipment section for the 987 Cayman but couldn't see anything. Although the wording on various sections indicates something exists (or at least used to).

Any part numbers or details much appreciated.

This is what I've got - https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod125843/Roof-Tra...

It's even more from Porsche. I bought mine used off a member on here. Then I bought a Thule carrier for the bike. The "Porsche" roof bars are Thule anyway.

I was going to say... Thule are my go to

Heres what you'd need:
753 front footpack
751 rear footpack
3100 fixing kit
Whatever bars you fancy

Thanks for all the info. Surprised how expensive it is just for the bars. Anyone want to sell their roof bars or bike rack for a Cayman?

smile

P.S. Does anyone know whether these would fit a 911; is the roof the same dimensions?

The design911 site lists the feet for just the 987 and normally says if products fit multiple cars so I'd guess they probably aren't compatible. But that is just an educated guess.

I’m selling my 987 Cayman Roof Transport System as I’ve sold the car. Barely used in perfect condition!

PM me for details.

I'm using a RockBros suction-cup rack (a knock-off of the popular 'sea-sucker'). I use it for Enduro bikes, so fairly big and hefty.

It's great, no issues, cheap and easy to install/remove and store. The only downside is that the bikes don't lock to it.
I've used it for 6 hour+ drives with no issues.
Have a look on the singletrackworld forum, there is a thread about them on there.

Late to the party with this thread but wondering if anyone has a Porsche 'roof transport system' for the Cayman 987 that is surplus to requirements?

Hi Steven, if you are in the PCGB then recommend trying the Cayman Register WA group and forums for this as they do sometimes come up.

Otherwise people can and do use the suction cup solutions which extend to the back glass

I’m sure I saw this combo at Dalby Forest a few times ?

Not me - my Cayman hasn't left Scotland for the 11 years I've owned it.

Slightly off topic but does anyone have a bike rack on a 987 Boxster? I sold my last couple of 986's as I couldn't take my MTB in them, I'm hoping to avoid the same fate for the 987 when the weather starts to improve!
