718 service cost
Discussion
Has anyone had their first service done on a 718, just got a quote for mine next month at £595 + £95 for brake fluid. Cant see the fixed price servicing on the porsche site but its quite a bit more than the cost of my previous 981. Just checking that the quote I had is the norm before I call around a few other dealers.
If you want to be really cheap, you could provide your own oil. As the OPC is conducting the service I'm told the warranty is fine. A service pack of Mobil 1 is ~£50 from OpieOils and should knock the service cost down to ~£440. Of course you may well decide it's not worth the hassle just to save ~£100.

Sounds like an easy way to make £100. Just got quotes from 2 OPC's for the first service on my 718 Boxster PDK - one was £843, the other was £927 - both included VAT and brake fluid change.
As the car is just coming up to 2 years old and 6000 miles and still under manufacturers warranty I did not really want to go down the specialist independent route, I am just seeing if these prices are about right as prices on other forums were suggesting about £700ish last year.

Why? Using an independent during the initial warranty period is not an issue at all - its only if you purchase Porsche's extended warranty that you HAVE to use an OPC. The only caveat being that the independent uses OE filters and completes to the same standard as an OPC.As the car is just coming up to 2 years old and 6000 miles and still under manufacturers warranty I did not really want to go down the specialist independent route, I am just seeing if these prices are about right as prices on other forums were suggesting about £700ish last year.
Mine didn't need servicing but a 1 year interval resonated with my mechanical empathy and was £395, all in. Didn't get brake fluid done, as after just 1 year it certainly didn't need it (no track days etc). YMMV.
Thanks for the message - although I know the independents come highly recommended (and cheaper) I was preferring to get the OPC stamp in the book for its first service.
I bought the car in Jan 2021 and got the balance of the manufacturers warranty as car was 15 months old, along with the 2 years extended warranty that came with it.
Only doing the brake fluid to keep the service history tidy - although I know the fluid won't have deteriorated in 2 years!!!
