Ok, so 18,000 miles in 17 months is not exactly high mileage, but I was wondering if anyone had encountered any problems running one day to day. I know there have been a couple of (hopefully isolated) issues reported on delivery but for me, other than having to take it back to the dealer once to get the tracker reset after 12 months (as Vodafone lost the signal) I’ve had no issues at all to report and it really has been fault free motoring as you would expect. (I think the only other minor issue I had is the PCM froze once whilst in nav mode, but this was not a problem as it just rebooted itself.). Any one had any problems so far ? (Any smart-arsed comments about ‘engine sound’ should be posted in the other thread!)

Faultless so far.

Only 5,500 miles had a rattle around the glove box area after doing launch control turned out to be cup holders which were replaced and problem gone away.

Just approaching 16,000 miles since June last year as its my company car. My biggest issue is rattles or resonance from the passenger door which drives me nuts. I have also noticed the caliper bolts are rusty. I will get both looked at when its due its first service.

Other than that its been great.

Why not take it in to get the rattles looked at and fixed?

My previous 981 boxster & Cayman had standard seats just prefer them. Leather is wearing where as both my previous 981’s seats looked brand new when I sold them.

Got a BS and put 13.5k miles since August. Only issue was a faulty coolant sensor/wiring loom after 1k miles. Drive it pretty much every day and have taken it on a week long road trip in France with a McLaren 650s and it didn’t embarrass itself. Great all round sports car.

Rusty calibre bolts on my 981 are part of the caliper and non-removeable. OPC solution was to replace calipers and go goodwill halves on the £1000 cost. Cosmetic issues not covered under warranty. I wire brushed, applied rust converter, then a black permanent marker. Been fine for 20k miles.

Just the noise, a bit like a hair dryer just before it blows up!

Why on earth would you buy one of these when 981s exist?

Oh.... apple play....there you go!

I am at 16300 - Car is still fabulous - just completed 2 yr service, I took the opportunity to get front tyres replaced - but the car is still tight - Fabulous and it is a Porsche why would you think there will be any issues - the warranty still applies.

Oh grow up and have a sense of humour.

Perhaps I speaketh too much truth!!

718s look great and drive beautifully, excellent low-down grunt.

People need to use their cars more though, myself included.....they don’t like sitting under wraps for months on end.

Maybe you find it funny repeating the same thing each time but I think it reflects more on your sense of humour than mine though I guess that is subjective just like the sound. It would perhaps be more grown up if we could have a conversation without some blurt throwing in a statement that bears no relation to the thread just so they get a bit of attention.

I don't care what you perceive to be the truth, if I wanted the 981 i'd have bought it, if I wanted a 911 i'd have bought it. Whilst I may not give a st what you or others think (it's just a car, I didn't give birth to it) it will likely get a bit tedious for some if every time a thread is posted on the 718 someone says "oh but the sound is st" and it is irrelevant to the topic.

I'm averaging 800 miles a month, it's my daily.

14,000 miles since May last year in my 718 Cayman manual base model. Faultless, but ready for the stone chips to be painted on the front bumper. I have enjoyed it enormously.
