Hi relatively new to PH. Recently took delivery of a Cayman GTS. Wow what a car - better than a 991 Carrera -you bet??
My query/cry for help has to do with the transfer of my i-Tunes library to PCM jukebox. Although I can find details on the net on how to transfer i-Tunes to an external source (i.e. Jukebox) via a USB stick - it appears that in transferring details to the USB I may loose the use of the music inventory on my Mac.

Am I correct in this assumption or does i-Tunes remain workable on my Mac?

If I am right has anyone any experience of successfully transferring i-Tunes whilst retaining it on their Mac & if so, how?

Any help would be gratefully received but please keep any instructions simple as I am strictly an end-user of computers, with limited knowledge of jargon.

Cheers all

Incidentally, this forum seems much more friendly & civilised than some I've come across on PH!!

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

You can't directly transfer your itunes from you iphone to the jukebox. I connect the phone to the USB port via the iphone cable to use itunes, anything else I have I convert to mp3 and put on USB stick and import to jukebox. To be honest I think the PCM jukebox isn't that good as you can't even save a CD you put in the dash to the jukebox which you can in BMW for example.

Hi Mad Ferret,
Many thanks for prompt reply. I suspected as much - but hey ho thats life, I suppose. I have done as you have, i.e. connected the phone direct to PCM before with my other Porsches. That route is ok but a pain to have to connect each & every time one uses the car.

Thanks again,
Cheers
Rob

In the car I test drove, I was able wirelessly to stream the music from my phone once paired, with no need directly to plug in the phone. I was not aware that this required special kit beyond being prepared for phone.

I have recently done this for a Macan, but from a windows pc.

Go into my computer and find the iTunes folder where the artists and music are stored. Copy and paste to your memory stick. Plug it into the car USB port and ensure PCM is on Juke box. It should read the stick automatically and one of the options is to copy to the hard drive.
