Pairing phone on 987 Boxster??

Has anyone had problems? .....and even better....does anyone have any recommendations of how to solve (or someone who can solve for me)- won't work with any phone I've tried so far, although comms system seems perfect in all other respects - this is a new car to me (2010 model) so I'm not sure if it's ever worked. Many thanks.
