Lowering 981 Cayman s
Discussion
Hi y'all. Does anyone know if you have to reset the geometry after lowering the car. I'm having Techart 25ml lowering springs fitted. One company says you do and one says not. It seems I do after reading the other lowering article. Any Info's appreciated. Thanks

Yes always must do a geo after lowering. But you should wait for 48 hours after lowering to allow the springs to settle, otherwise you'll end up having to have it done again (which is what happened to me).
Thanks for the advice. Now I know why my old Clio 197 never felt right after a so called expert added lowering springsmrdemon said:
springs don't take 48 hours to settle
fit springs drive round the block, get geo.
would have been a great time to fit the x73 kit.
Is the x73 kit just the sports suspension option from the configaratorfit springs drive round the block, get geo.
would have been a great time to fit the x73 kit.

yes, and what all the reviews are now raving about, even though they did not in the beginning.

4 new shocks and springs and 2 new ARB
seems quite cheap and will prob make your car the best car in the Porsche line up today.

Didn't see the ss till it was too late. Spent around 15grand modding my car so far and run out of money. think I'll wait for the car to be a bit older and ready to track before I change the pasm. https://www.suncoastparts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Ses...

Mark, any update on the upgrades? The lowered ride is not a major problem, but I have a had a few close shaves:Edited by Mark981cs on Thursday 19th June 09:09

Biggest difference on the X73 is the rear sway bar. It's 46% stiffer than stock!https://www.suncoastparts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Ses...

Grumble. Grumble.

That's how a 991 turbo with Aerokit should look like.
Grumble. Grumble.
Went to TechArt germany last week. Grumble. Grumble.
Had a play with their 991 Turbo car. Wow. The only thing that compares to the acceleration is an Aventador and Macca MP12C, it was brutal. TechArt piggyback system remaps to 620 BHP with 750 NM, they guarantee the engine so whats not to love.

Love a bit of negative camber, looks good as well. I will dig out the Tech9 geo settings for my 981 with the TechArt springs.mrdemon said:
Yum... Personally, I would love to have a kit that provides an upgrade, adjustable but retains the PASM to provide comfort to and from a track. mrdemon said:
win win then as that all works on a PASM car ;-)
Nice, I should have investigated further when you posted. It seems the kit is $3,390 USD, and "Each set of TPC Racing Adjustable Sway Bars includes a 5-way adjustable front sway bar, a 4-way adjustable rear sway bar, and sway bar bushings for the specific application. Each hole on the sway bar represents about a 10% adjustment."
I guess once fitted its worth spending time with the likes of Chris at CoG to find a good setup.

Hi Dan. Cars done but going back on Wednesday for wheel alignment (will your geo settings help the guys doing mine?) there was a mix up and it didn't get done. Rear spoiler came lose and damaged the paint slightly so that's getting sorted also. Looks excellent with the front air outlets but still waiting for the Halifax to refund my money for the wheels so stuck with the standard 5 spoke 19s at the moment. Still have the black foil sticker to be applied to the rear. Didn't receive my car till later that Friday after you set off to nurburgring. I've had no problems with the lowering other than a couple of light scraping noises. Yours looks close to the floor on the ring. Trying to decide between these wheels for mine. May just stick with the Techart ones to go with the kit. What does everyone else think?
