Good Porsche servicing near Bristol?
Discussion
Hi all,
My 2006 Cayman S is just coming up for its next (major) service. I've owned this fantastic car since new but it only tends to come out on sunny weekends, and so the car has only covered 24k miles. I've had my local Porsche centre service the car so far, and they do a great job, but they're very pricey, especially now I'm only doing about 1-2k miles per year in the Cayman.
Can anyone recommend a really good place to get my next service done? Quality is important, and ideally it would be a nice drive from Bristol!
Many thanks,
Simon

I have always taken my Boxster to Advanced Car Care in Filton who I have always been happy with. Only a vey small workshop with 2/3 mechanics.
I have just bought a Cayman S and the previous owner who I know very well used to take his to A P Autocare in Bedminster who he highly recommended so I will probably use them now as they know the car

I used Pro-9 in Redditch. Bit awkward to get to but they restore, rebuild and service racing Porsches as well. 80 miles or so from Bristol according to Michelin maps:

Their prices on the website are a bit out of date but they were still £50 less than an OPC for a minor service for my 986 S. And they kept mine overnight so I could collect the next day. No public transport nearby, but they may do it while you wait.

In that range you're looking at the usual suspects in the SW
Ray Northway's in Theale
Steve Bull's in Devizes
Jon Mitchell's in Verwood.
Sounds promising - how do you rank the quality of their work (out of 5), and are they much cheaper than the list prices of a Porsche Centre? Ray Northway's in Theale
Steve Bull's in Devizes
Jon Mitchell's in Verwood.
Cheers,
Simon
Tell the dealer you want a discount/price match or you'll take your money elsewhere.
I've never paid full price for anything at the dealership.
You might feel embarrassed that they may think you're poor, but proudly point out that it's an S and it has Xenons and that your money pays for their shiny suits and that should dispel any doubts.

Neil Garner really knows his Porsches. His workshops are near Malmesbury, so about 40 minutes from Bristol. Here is his fixed price servicing menu: http://www.neilgarner.co.uk/Porsche_specials/
