Grinding noise from 981 PDK
Discussion
My 5 month old 981 PDK developed a grinding noise from the transmission end of the car this afternoon, journey home was v heavy London traffic. It'll be my first experience of Porsche after sales, will book it in with Hatfield (who supplied it)first thing tomorrow and hope it can be resolved before Thurs next week when I'm heading on a Euro hoon. What are the chances of getting it seen to Tues/Weds especially as it's a BH weekend? Or will I be taking the R129 instead.

Looks like I won't find out. Luckily (and embarassingly) it "appears" the noise was a stone caught between the disc and the protective metal plate on one of the rear wheels. And I'd just got used to the idea of cruising down in the Merc.
Same happened to me in the middle of France in a Lamborghini. Terrible noise and a bit of a worry so far from home. Stopped and reversed and it dislodged itself. Happy Days !!truck71 said:
They seem prone to it, I'm down in the south of France having driven via the alps and had two similar experiences en rroute. They quickly flick out but it can be a bit un nerving the first time you hear it.
Weird. Perhaps someone can come up with a DIY fix. God knows Porsche won't!Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
