I know there has been a few Vs in the past between the S2000 and the Boxster. Be nice to hear some up to date views on owning both, Pro's and Con's.
I have the opportunity just now to sell my S2K and move onto a 2009+Boxster S. I have been wanting to scratch this itch for a long time, but Can't help but feeling I may regret getting rid of such a low mileage S2k.
This is an everyday car, but only so many weeks of the year, As I work in Iraq.

Hi, my last car was a 2008 S2000, loved it to bits and sold it for a deposit on a house. Went to Le Mans classic in it and all over Scotland; still love them. However as a rule I never buy the same sports car twice and last September bought a 2007 Boxster S with only 12k only clock. The car is amazing and it puts a big smile on my face every time I drive it, which is everyday as it my daily driver. Apart from the performance and legendary handling I can't get over how much boot space there is. Easily three times the volume of the S. My advise is go and test drive one if you can, you won't be disappointed.

I have run an S in the form of an RS60 which is an S with a nice colour scheme and all of the bits I tried and liked such as PASM and PSE. They are such underrated cars, the only negative thing I can think of is the £475 road tax so I put mine away for the winter and get it out April till October and get a refund for the rip off tax. Having been back on road now for a week or two I realise just how much I like the car, you can thrash it (once warmed up properly) and start it the next day and do it again without anything falling off or going wrong. If you go through the OPC system there are times when it is a bit expensive for instance a minor service and the renewing of the warranty cost me £2500 plus now my rear tyres need replacing too so I'm having new rear tyres and the tracking done which is another £700. You could of course use an independent to do the work and save a bit of money. I always buy my cars at about four years from new as you pay less than half the price of new and you can use the money to add another car to your collection or just use the money to look after it properly. I can't think of another car in this price range I'd rather have having tried quite a few.

You rarely see negatives about the boxster.
It was a couple of years ago I was looking at a cayman, but bought a supercharged Elise, so really got the bug for open top.
I will admit that is the only thing that bugs me about the Porsches, is potential running costs. Not that I can't afford it, but I just grudge the sometimes over rated costs that you get shafted for.
An Elise with same performance costs a fraction. But it's the way it is, you either sook it up, or buy something else.
I have arranged a drive for when I get back, but that will potentially be in a 2013 car, so possibly not a true comparison to the older boxster.
