Couldn't find any comments on a search, so hopefully a new topic?
My previous cars (audi/VW) have had a switch or button that turns off the motion sensor on the car alarm, to prevent it going off on 'interesting' ferry journeys. No mention of this or any other method in the Porsche handbook, so do 2009 gen 2 boxsters not have a motion sensor?
If I lock the doors by using the key instead of the button, is it securing the car, but without the alarm ? (that would be good enough for a ferry).
Thanks in advance.

When I took my Cayman on the ferry last year I just locked it with the key. This should lock it without activating the alarm.

On 981 models if you push the lock button on your key twice in succession the doors and trunks are all locked by motion sensors unactivated. This might leave the tilt sensor unactivated too. Nto sure on 987, but you could test to see if this works unless someone else has more specific advise for you.

Didn't even occur to me when I took my 981s to Europe last year. Just locked it as normal and no problems.
