First post here but a long time lurker... Does anyone know how many Boxster Spyders were spec'd with PCCBs in the UK?

I saw my perfect spec Spyder last last year (with the PCCBs), hesitated and missed out frown I keep my eye out on the classifieds but so few come up with the ceramics.

Who here has one with PCCBs? I love the Spyder and would love to see your pics - happy if this becomes a gratuitous photo fest from any proud Spyder owners (regardless of spec) out there!

Love to see what you've got...

Thanks, Faye

Very few

In your spec which you posted earlier and the post went missing. Prob about 3 or 4 cars.

I've seen 2 for sale I'm the last 6 months. A white one privately for £40k or £42k and a black one, featured in evo which was initially for sale privately for £37k then at a trader in Somerset (I think) for a little more.

I've never driven with pccb but I can't see how they're necessary on the spyder given the performance of the standard brakes. If I were you I'd broaden the search.

i would consider selling mine for (list)

8k miles/white/manual/PCCB/bixenons/short shifter/PSE/sports mode (retro fit)/no-AC/sound package plus/painted black wheels/buckets/LiON battery/alcantara interior package (steering wheel/shiftknob/handbrake)

every performance option................

and she's so sweet.

edited to take out the actual number.

The black one did not have Spyder wheels and hopped from dealer to dealer gaining in price every time, a OPC then sold it for £43k.

PCCB are outstanding in the Spyder.

There is probably not any way to know (even Porsche GB themselves would probably have to get Germany to mine the data to find out), though proportionately they seem to be much more common than on any other Boxster model. It could conceivably be as high as a quarter of them if the classifieds are anything to go by, but probably less. However, the DVLA says that only 231 came into the country to begin with (111 PDK, the rest manual) so you may have to be flexible on spec to get anything. If you were after anything other than predictable spec (which for that car is going to be white, black interior, standard wheels, non-bucket seats, small fuel tank, steel brakes) you are probably chasing one of less than a dozen or so cars if I were to make a guess.

Best looking one that I have seen was in Aqua blue (I assume it was a special order and there can't be many of those).

Footnote: while 231 came in, the DVLA says that less than 200 are currently still here (either taxed or SORNed), so an appreciable number have been exported or written off too.

Thanks for the responses all - I've been looking for the perfect Spyder for at least a year now - I found it the first week I started looking a year ago, hesitated and missed out (the one that got away smile) but back at the start I figured ah well another will come up as there were typically 15(ish) listed on PH at any one time back then. Life then took over and maybe I didn't search as often or as hard as I should have. I don't know, but here we are today.

I still have an ideal spec in mind but also know beggars can't be choosers too. This is a dream car for me and I guess I'm missing out by holding out and probably would be converted as soon as I drove any Spyder - but I'd like to have one last push to find my perfect spec if I can. I'll be following up on a lead on one tomorrow and I'll report back if anything comes of it.

I did spot the black one (a couple in fact) and although ordinarily I wouldn't judge a car by it's colour I do think with the dark colours you lose some of the definition/silhouette which makes the Spyder such a beauty... based on photos anyway.....Although who knows, the Blue 'ex-Keith Flint from The Prodigy' car was dark and was a real beauty................Timing is everything it seems LOL....

Anyway, thanks to everyone who's contributed to my posts so far. Please keep the info coming, it's really appreciated.

you can have your perfect spec if you hand over 50k :-/ not sure I could turn down 50k atm for mine.

If someone offered me 50k I would have a very very serious think about selling. But then I'd think if it has gone up to that how much further will it go.

I've really started to get drawn into the idea of owning a late 993 Targa. Never driven one but love the look of them. Also goes down the classic route where latest models and more power/speed is irreverent.

Have you seen the price of 360 Challenge Stradales (the ones with the 'right' spec) now - I thought they were toppy at £90k a couple of years ago! Not the same car, but the same principle.
