Well I have been stalking this forum for some while and now have placed a deposit on a Boxster GTS, do not know the build date yet but the sooner the better. Had been looking at F type took one out on the Gaydon track very capable car but on country roads it’s just too wide.
Always had British cars such as Triumph Stag (I am not that old), Lotus Elise, TVR Tamora and a couple of Aston Martin Vantages.
I need to scratch the Porsche itch so hopefully I am going to like it, other half even said she would drive it (back from the pub) so here’s hoping.....

Agree on the seats.
I originally went for the buckets but they have no height adjustment so config was swapped to 18 way at dealers, not locked down yet until a slot is agreed so welcome the comments before I finalise.
You have to try the buckets.I originally went for the buckets but they have no height adjustment so config was swapped to 18 way at dealers, not locked down yet until a slot is agreed so welcome the comments before I finalise.
If you are physically within certain parameters then they can be very comfortable indeed. I have no issue with mine whatsoever and would choose them again in a heartbeat. Some people can't get comfortable in them though.
The GTS looks nice although, personally I am not a fan of red instrument dials either.
Congrats - looks fantastic inside and out.
Do you really need a reversing camera?
PDLS is great if you're out in the sticks.
The PCM phone module has more functionality (rSAP - unless you have an iphone) and IIRC is only about £100 more.
The red dials are a personal taste thing - not for me either. Are they a default part of the GTS package?

18way seats are not worth it.
Great looking car, very jealous. I was in at a local Porsche dealer yesterday looking at a cayman 's, myself. Edited by mrdemon on Wednesday 2nd April 08:40
MrD, you say the 18 way seats are not worth it? Do you happen to know if the 2 way have lumbar support? Or is that only on the 18 way?

Cannot remember from my old car if it has or not, but a good seat does not need lumbar adjustment and people often turn it up to much when they do have it.MrD, you say the 18 way seats are not worth it? Do you happen to know if the 2 way have lumbar support? Or is that only on the 18 way?

but 2k to add more electric seats is not worth the money imo. the standard ones are the SPORTS seats which I wouold always spec if I did not want a car with buckets.

I would go heated buckets everytime with the caveat that you need to try before you buy as they are very much dependent on your height and build. The buckets are a very comfy seat.I originally went for the buckets but they have no height adjustment so config was swapped to 18 way at dealers, not locked down yet until a slot is agreed so welcome the comments before I finalise.
