After 7 years of Chimaera ownership, I've taken the plunge and am picking up a 2.7L beauty this weekend ( something to do with the change in gay marriage laws, one of my mates says..). I've kept the Chimaera wired up to an Accumate via its cigarette lighter socket - can I do the same with the Boxster?

Welcome. I came from a Griffith (the rush on gold led to a shortage of medallions). Should be fine.

If it comes to it, you'll find the battery a doddle to access compared to the Chimaera. Under the bonnet near the w/screen, you only have to turn 2 plastic clips to lift the battery cover off. No twisted spine required! And you can leave the bonnet on the latch if you're leaving it a long time.

I have an Accumate but connect to the battery - seems to work well.

Surely if you leave the bonnet open the light stays on and will flatten the battery more ? Or is there a switch I cant see ?

You can get a cigarette lighter adapter. I use one in my 987 with the accurate & it works fine
