RAC Warranty renewal
Discussion
This April I will have had my 57 Cayman S for a year, I got a free Platinum RAC warranty with the car, Ive used it once as the Clutch microswitch went and amazingly they paid for it!
Just had a renewal quote and its £400, now are these warranties as useless as everyone says or is it worth it?.
Cant believe I've had it a year, time flys when your having fun as they say!

had nothing but trouble with RAC warranty.
My mk6 gti slung its timing chain. VW paid for a new engine plus 40% of the labour, the garage waived 20% of the labour fees to get the business and this left RAC warranty 40% of the labour about 750 quid.
They refused to pay as it was a 'known problem'. I asked for a list of their 'known problems' no such list exists.
As for a 'known problem' VW immediately offered to pay for the engine as 'an engine with 22k miles on it should not suffer this issue. (Why VW didn't pay 100% of the labour is another story)
In summary avoid like the plague a bunch of thieves.
