Hi,
i am a newbe having just changed from a TVR to a 2.7 Boxster. I am just about to change my indicator stalk ( will not stay on turning right and will not cancell turning left) although this seems straight forward, however, I have to disconect my battery which means I will lose my radio. I have looked in all the documentation but cannot find the radio code anywhere! can anyone advise me how I can obtain the radio code please. The car was registered in 2003.

Probably a good idea to leave the key in the ignition when you disconnect the battery - that will stop the alarm going off, not sure whether you need to turn it to position I. Certainly doesn't normally affect the coding of the key(s) when you pull the plug on the battery.Tom
I know it is probably always advisable to disconnect the battery when playing with the electrics, but on changing an indicator switch? I doubt it would really cause a problem. Most likely a plug into a harness / loom, no soldering required.
I've wired plenty of stuff up without doing so (especially car stereos when you're not sure which wire is the permanent live), but of course, it is not a recommendation. Some may say it's being a cowboy, but I've never done anything worse than blow a fuse.

The issue with the indicator is that you have to remove the air bag and steering wheel. Disconecting the air bag with the battery connected could cause it to deploy which in effect as far as I know, is an explosion.
I could be wrong but I dont think its worth taking the chance??

I stand corrected. In my experience, on most cars, you only need to take the steering column shroud or binnacle off to get at indicator stalks, etc. If you have to disconnect the steering wheel airbag than the battery should definitely be disconnected.
