I'm looking for a Boxster and have come across one at 911 Sport in Horncastle. From the advert and a brief chat to the garage all seems pretty positive, but it's a 360 mile round trip for me to view the car and I'd like to hear from anyone who has had dealings with this copany in the past for your opinions please. Feel free to PM me if there are things you'd rather not post in a public forum.
Also, if anyone is close by and feels like dropping in and having a look at the car this would be appreciated !

I bought my Cayman from Reading OPC, but soon after moved to Lincoln. The nearest OPC was too far away for routine maintenance so I discovered 911 Sport. There servicing team are fantastic to deal with both for normal servicing and modifications. One of the few car companies that are a pleasure to deal with who don't go in for "open wallet surgery" whenever you go to them.
My 997 Gen1 Turbo came from there.
They're very proud of their service dept and were happy to give me a tour, it was impressive. I was shown a Turbo being prepped for sale and it had the front PU off for a full rad swap, the existing didn't seem terminal and when asked they told me that they offer a six month comprehensive no quibble warranty, and six months of hard (through the winter) motoring could be the end of them. They routinely change out all disks and pads showing any sign of wear, and treat tires the same way.
When going round my car (pre prep) they pointed out all bits that would be changed out during prep, additional bits pointed out by me were readily agreed to be swapped out also.
Upon returning post prep, it was like a new car, everything had been attended to, the PU/bonnet/wings re spray was faultless, even under close examination under artificial light.
I would buy from them again, and their service rates are a revelation to anybody used to paying OPC.
They make bold claims for their warranty "ANYTHING goes wrong just bring it back and we'll sort it" and I was determined to test it, but during my ownership of the car nothing (at ALL) went wrong.

If you are looking to buy a nearly new 911 Turbo or any other member of the expensive range and then want an iron clad warrantee valid across the whole of the UK and even Europe then you'd go to your local OPC. To put this kind of restriction on a 14 year old Boxster in good condition being sold by a reputable specialist seems excessive. If you have a recovery service, they normally transport your car to a repair facility of your choice - so getting the car back to 911Sport after a complete failure is relatively simple.
I must admit that this Boxster does look like a very good way to get into cheap Porsche ownership and should be a real hoot when (if) summer comes back to this country.
