what mileage are you getting out of rear tyres? I seem to be appfroaching new rears at 9500 mls. Got 14-15K out of my 996 Turbo! Perhaps I'm too heavy on the right pedal ?

I think the answer is very brand specific.

Zyp got les than you from his Pirellis, I got 16000 from Bridgestones.

7,300

Now on 13,300, so no doubt all four will need replacing around July, just when the warranty is up for renewal.
Oh joy.... £0000000's

This pair of Pirellis seem to be lasting longer.

Having new rears fitted next week. Current tyres seem to be wearing more on outside. Not the edge but probably the outer 2/3rds i.e. more tread left on inside edge. Is this a result of suspension set up do you think or do I have an alignment issue ? Tyres are Pirelli P Zero. Nearside tyre is marginally more worn than off side.

the cars don't have enough camber if you want to drive them as intended.

even if you double the oem settings it's still not enough, crazy really.
but you can only get about -1.1 up front with out any mods.

ps Pirelli P Zero are really bad imo.

Quite minimal wear at the moment having just done 8500 miles.

However I am playing a bit more at being sideways lately which won't help.

I've just checked mine and have the same issue as you. I've also only driven 4700 miles on these tyres (original set). I have about 5mm on inside of both rear tyres but only 3mm on outer edge. I wonder if I need my geo done too as I haven't done any track days or anything unusual.

MrD - why are Pzero's bad? My fronts are 5-6mm all round, and seems a bit extreme to replace all 4 vs a new set of rear Pzero's. Ideally I'd switch to Michellins all round but wonder if the difference is that big. Would also appreciate it if you could forward/pm your full geo settings to make the car more 'Elise'. Hope it doesn't kill outter edges of tyre though!

I had the new tyres fitted yesterday plus a 4 year major service (my wallet is still hurting). It was done at OPC and they did not raise any issue re the geometry so I assume (maybe naively) that all is OK on that front. I am sure they would have raised an issue if there was one - they like ratcheting up the service cost!!

I feel your pain. My major's due in July. I'll probably get my geo done anyway, as I know my car only covered 1800 miles in its first 3 years (previous owner) - that's a lot of time sat doing nothing. Would like to sharpen up the handling even more too, within the OPC tolerance.

even at -2 degrees in front, camber is still not enough........

I got -1.4 on my CR without any mods, for more angle you can get adjustable top plates, but problem is if you use std adjustable lower arms you can end up altering the castor angles due to the suspension geometry which is not desirable. Personally -1.4 for me is fine on road and track.
