Boxter Engine Mapping
Discussion
I don't know if there are any easy identifiers simply by plugging in via the obd port but one would think that if you wanted to you could compare a base map and a modified map check the tables and see the differences. I could tell the difference in the driving when mine was done but it was already modified.
The PIWIS tester has a DME record check facility that can tell whether any map manipulation has occurred; it also can check if the present map is the 'current' version (MY and driveability improvement maps are written periodically and are worth investigating to keep the DME up to date).

Interesting. Is it just a case of asking our OPC if an update is available?
If one is, is it FOC?

Its a five second check once the tester is connected for a system test as part of a service; 30-40 minutes of programming if an update is available (unlikely foc but worth asking)Is it just a case of asking our OPC if an update is available?
