came up for sale ages ago , then was sold, then came back for sale. (I would say because last time a perfect mega spec R came up at a OPC a day later.)
I would say the buyer canceled this buy and bought the OPC car as the OPC car sold in 1 day.
then a few months later this has come back for sale again.
Nice spec if you want a PDK R , but gen 1 PDK does not really suit a R imo, it's like driving a mini GT3.
but then PDK is a personal choice.
it was up at £47k the 1st time, but now has been hanging about for about 4 months on and off.
Not sure if that's because of PDK sales on this type of car , the OPC car which sold in 1 day was manual.
Is PDK sort after on a R ? I would say no with very few White, Red or Green Manual R's for sale atm.
here is a white manual with buckets and sports options if you have a change of mind lol

Is it to replace the Spyder ?

I did a lot of thinking about buying a PDK R as with PCCB it's going to be very very fast in all area's
What stopped me was having the manual Spyder and having a M3 DCT inbetween and then I just found I was board to death with nothing to do driving the M3, even my dad at 83 said it was dull to drive and very easy.
he was expecting a 420 bhp monster.
So it lasted less than 3 months and imo DCT is better than PDK and more adjustable.
expensive mistake to make.
Very hard choice now PDK gives you that extra 0-100 performance, but I see resale a bit slower on them and you night just get board with it.
you will love a R though after a Spyder, I never use my Spyder these days, the R is just great.

If I'm not mistaken GC have had a reputation for taking ex press fleet, ex Silverstone cars which have had a hard life. Not sure on this one but worth checking.Looking to get a cayman r and like the spec of this one

Does having no AC put people off?
Yes, it would put me off.I've got a 987 Cayman S (with AC). My next car will either be a 987 Cayman R or a 997 GT3. Whichever one I go for will have to have AC if not climate control (I don't know if this was an option on either car).
My first "performance" car many moons ago was an EP3 Civic Type-R with no AC. I didn't think I'd miss it but I really did. I won't buy another road car without it.
Literally no AC? Pretty povo spec even for Porsche!
I have had a car without functioning AC for a few weeks in the summer and it is pretty unpleasant (only in a good summer, mind).
You should also factor in (1) a Cayman has a fair amount of heat ingress from the engine (I think, unless I am going mad) and (2) the aerodynamics seem to make opening the windows at any real speed a pretty crappy option.= - it is very blustery and intense.
