Store or Sell? 981 Boxster S

Also if it had been a 981GTS it would possibly have been worth considering but not with an S.
Why? 981 GTS is just another volume made depreciating sports car. I’d even suggest an S is far better value. Now if it was an appreciating air cooled 911, possibly a different matter.
I’d just get something funky in Dubai, if that’s where you’re relocating. For a start their gas prices are way cheaper and they’re not in hock to the net zero nonsense, mainly because batteries can’t hold charge in high desert temps.

When I was buying I would have bought either an S or GTS, both were in budget. But as I particularly didn’t want certain extras I was always going to end up with an S to get my preferred spec.
As far as VFM goes I would agree the S is a better buy, IMO, but each to their own and all that.

FWIW I keep tabs on my 2014 981 value via WBAC emails.
Their offers have increased 11% in the last six months since I briefly thought about p/ex-ing against a Macan S we bought, hence the WBAC comparison.
Appreciating asset?
It would be nice, but it is normal for the value of sportscars to increase between winter and summer.Their offers have increased 11% in the last six months since I briefly thought about p/ex-ing against a Macan S we bought, hence the WBAC comparison.

Random suggestion. Could you ship the car to Dubai and never use it there so never register it or something like that but just store it there - it won't rust that's for sure. Or maybe only use it on a track occasionally like a proper race car which isn't legal for road use - then it will get an occasional run out. Do tracks exist in Dubai? If not then any other countries nearby with tracks that could be suitable?

But if you own one then GTS will hold its value far better due to far fewer and viewed as more desirable. Just look at current values.

Sell. The car is great, but not special enough to warrant a long term storage solution that would keep it in good order.
Depends on how you feel about the car though.
^ This, years ago I moved to Toronto, initially leaving a Boxster and Frogeye in England, once I realized the move would work out to be permanent I sold the Boxster as they are freely available, it wasn't unique and held no special emotional hold on me, the Frogeye is here in Toronto with me, I still haven't replaced the Boxster.....Depends on how you feel about the car though.
