Possibly a less useable car than the GT4RS ... apart from "that engine" where will the additional performance be of any use ? ... it terms of being fit for purpose is it really much / any better than an original 987 Spyder ?
I can quite understand Porsche concentrating the last of the fossil fuel cars on the most expensive / highest margin, but might this also result in an over-supply ?
I can't see a logic to support overs .... particularly not since almost three months of prime time soft-top has been "spent" .... four months to go ?

I see there’s 12 SRS for sale second hand now (no idea how many registered but that must be a reasonable percentage -
Flippers bailing?). Do we think these are on the same downward trajectory as the GT4RS, ie heading for list price?
Personally this is a marmite car for me, I’m not sure why porsche built it. Wouldn’t a gt4rs be a better car for track, is the boxster rs spyder just a posing car? Flippers bailing?). Do we think these are on the same downward trajectory as the GT4RS, ie heading for list price?

You could argue the same of the 911Speedster, but SRS same engine and half the price!I for one am glad Porsche built but out of the Boxster Spyders the 987 gets the no1 vote from me, just seems more pure

There’s a rich history of Porsche open top sports cars though and the Spyder RS is a terrific part of that.
I agree ... and for this reason I like the idea of the Ev Boxster. Many will be used for shorter range drives, on fine days and fun days, roof down wafting quietly along beautiful country roads with all that sky ... but ??I see the roof complexity as a massive non-issue.
Is it fiddly af and does it take too long? probably.
Have I ever, ever, got the interior wet in my Spyder? no, cos you know what, either I can see the weather is fine, or I look at the sky and put the roof up if it looks terrible... I'm never in so much of a rush that pulling over and spending 30 seconds to a minute, putting the roof up is a negative thing.
The fact a GTS is a simple push button affair whilst moving, is neither here nor there that car is amazing in it's own right and also extremely different in it's character.
This car, could easily be a collectors bauble, or a daily, but either way it's a mid engine'd, open top GT3, with road tune'd suspension and that is every kind of awesome. Frankly for me it's the best car ever, and whilst that makes me sound like I'm 9 years old, the more I think about it the more I believe it. It's only flaws that I see are it's price/availability and the lack of a manual option, and even then, everyone knows the PDK is the best of it's kind...

Since these have been so popular do you reckon there is a chance Porsche brings a convertible GT3/ Speedster variant into non-limited production? Is it fiddly af and does it take too long? probably.

I have no clue tbh. I'd hope there is time and room for more special limited 911s. The last speedster was 991.2 wasn't it? so they're due something...I just see these open top NA specials as a smidge classier than their more track focused shouty equivalents, and I guess that's how it should be. Those that actually track their GT car want and need the downforce, rigidity and suspension set up that a coupe with a massive wings affords them.
Road driving, is supposed to within the law and with respect for you fellow public road user... so you can afford to wind it back a bit, whilst appreciating a softer set up, and allowing the broader range of sensory feedback to enter the cabin...
